Bear With Me
A good friend of mine (hi Katie!) once told me that all good flashbacks begin with a specific phrase, so here we go... *ahem*
So there I was... it was mid August and I was trying to figure out what to say on my next blog post when I was saved the trouble by divine intervention. Well, technically digital intervention. The GPU in my computer took a crap mid-update. Sure, I could have posted videos and stuff from my iPad, but I prefer the editing tools on the 'puter as they're a bit more robust.
Now under other circumstances I might not be quite so put out about the timing. As I mentioned, I have an iPad and, for the vast majority of what I do online it's enough. But in addition to figuring out my next update, I was also in the process of opening a Patreon account. If you haven't heard of it, Patreon is a website where creatives collect patrons in an effort to spend less time doing normal job stuff and more time pursuing their passion. Like for money. The real stuff, not internet points.
That brings us to today! I am reequipped with a brand new internets machine and, while I am not yet set up on Patreon, I bring glad tidings in the form of a sad little bear cub! I call this piece "Mama?" Much of what I've been working on lately has been heavily influenced by Greek and Roman monstrous mythologies, but this piece was something lighter. You can see the still image in the digital gallery and watch the time-lapse below.
